Let’s face it, during the long school holidays, being parents, we sometimes run out of ideas on how to keep our kids occupied. So, what better way to ensure that they use their free time productively than by introducing them the Brain Quest Workbooks!
I’ve got two Brain Quest General Curriculum Workbooks for both my kids this school holidays. I chose the general curriculum as they do not focus solely on one certain subject but covers Math, English Language and Science. The workbooks are also colourful, which is great since my youngest is soooo into colours these days. Apart from being jam packed with curriculum based activities, each title comes with a pull out poster and best of all, 200 stickers are included!!!
My 4 year old enjoyed her Pre-K Workbook tremendously as she gets to learn ABCs, 123s, phonics, shapes and colors, beginning sounds, and at the same time, she is able to play games such as mazes, “what’s wrong with this picture?” and sorting games which are cleverly weaved into the curriculum to make the learning process entertaining and fun.
As for my 8 year old son, he loves challenges and the interactive Workbook for Grade 2 is like a refresher course for him as it reinforces everything he had learned in his classes earlier this year. The workbook’s easy-to-follow explanations means this mommy does not need to constantly go through the book with him though it will help if parents are able to explain the more difficult key concepts to their children. My son was particularly interested in topics about first fractions, tic tac total, geography, science as well as Brain Boxes. At the end of each workbook, there is a cut out certificate where you can fill in the name of the child to present to him/her after the completion of all exercises. Needless to say, my son felt pretty important with a certificate. LOL.
