Have you ever had a time when your child eats ice-cream on a cone..and you’ll see the ice-cream melt faster than him eating it? It goes drip drip drip on your floor and your heart goes bip-bop just a little faster. And then, the kids step all over it..making the floor, just one big sticky mess? Ever? Well… I’ve had plenty of those moments, and I tell you it drives me up the wall. One of the factors being that we don’t wear shoes in the house, so we really get to feel the stickyness of the ice-cream…or what’s left of it.

And, it was so easy to use, especially when kids mess up the floor… I just took out the Reveal Spray Mop, sprayed on the offending mess, and wiped it away. Good as new. I didn’t have the extra work of filling up the bucket and dunking it twice, squeeze excess water off, mopping it, dunking it again to rinse it off, squeeze excess water off, mopping again, and dunking it to clean it off, squeeze excess water, drain the water from the bucket….phew! even typing all that was tiring!

Even washing the microfibre pad was a breeeeeze! All I had to do was remove the visible dust balls, and let the washing machine do the rest. Honestly, it was really so much less work! Works well on most floors – wood/timber and tiles. It is non-battery operated, as you trigger the spray at the handle (pretty similar to a spray bottle). And the mop swivels just about any nook and cranny. I was really impressed at how it just swivelled whereever I wanted it to.

It was sooo easy, that even my 8 year old could clean up his (and his brothers’) mess!!!!!! Now…less work + increased effectiveness + less time = a very happy you. If this doesn’t do it for you, I’m not sure what will.

The story behind the game is this: with the busy holiday season approaching, Nintendo was looking to find new ways to improve speed and efficiency at its always-busy distribution facility in North Bend, Wash. In the past, the company has tried a number of solutions, including having Donkey Kong roll packages down a set of girders into waiting trucks or expediting deliveries through warp pipes.

This year one of the suggested innovations included the use of wind-up Mini Mario toys…

Bad idea.

Initially the use of the helpful Mini Marios seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately, they were not guided appropriately and soon marched non-stop throughout the entire building, climbing girders, riding conveyor belts and causing a bit of mayhem.

They overran Nintendo’s facility for a short time, but operations have since been returned to normal, thank goodness…

The incident was caught on camera and shared with the area’s local television news station,
DK-TV, who was the first to cover the news. Reporter Ken Darling covers the story in this video above.

We recently received the Aqua Leisure First Fitness Balance Battle Combat Fitness Game for my kiddos to try out.  The game teaches balance equilibrium and forms agility skills, plus helps children learn to react and recover in a “battle” situation. It includes 2 soft inflatable battle sticks and 2 inflatable balance pads.  The day it arrived in the mail happened to be a very rainy day which put a bit of a damper on the excitement of it’s arrival. 

I opened the box and was very happily surprised with the quality of the pieces and quickly blew up the two battle sticks.  I was a bit disappointed to find that the balance pads needed a bicycle pump to inflate as it did not state that anywhere on the box or in the description, however we quickly found one so it was not a big problem.  Once I assessed the game, I decided it would actually be possible to play in the house without much worry of injury or destruction. 

From the first game my children were hooked.  They both very much enjoyed the challenge of the balance pads and it actually makes the game very fair regardless of the size or skill level of the players.  Balance is the key and often my much smaller and weaker daughter would win over my son simply because her balance is much better.  We have been playing it for a few weeks and it is holding up very well- even from all the abuse my children have given to it.  I have also seen marked improvement in my daughter’s ability to hit a target and in my son’s balance- so it’s not only fun, but it also works!!

Before a child enters into kindergarten there is a large list of things they must know. Whether they learn it in preschool or at home it doesn’t matter, as long as they know how to count, tell colors, write their name, differentiate between letters and be accepting to social interaction.

We all know that a child does not learn by being forced into a chair and studying until their eyes cross, they learn through play, through touch and smell. They learn with all their senses, so outdoor play is tantamount to their success but when you live in places where the weather does not always permit outdoor play, there is another option.

Games like the Moo and Baa game by Haba are a great way to help your child learn color, shapes and memory. It is a fun game that is easy for a three year old to understand. When my daughters and I sat down and played we separated the wooden animals into color, then mixed them up and put them into the separate pouches. The girls then had to pull (without looking) the animals out one by one and try to beat the other child by putting them on the color coordinated card and get ALL the animals in the barn first.

My 3 and 4 year old really enjoyed it, and the colors Red and White now have new meaning to them. It’s a fun way to teach them color coordination and tactile skills while they are putting the matching animal on its mat.

My children are all taught that most of life is full of non-gender roles.

What I used to call policemen, are now police officers. Teachers are male and female as can be presidents and military officials.

So when given the chance to take my toddler girls outside of the realm of their traditional apron and kitchen playtime as they normally have, (I got them a kitchen, pots pans and matching aprons) it was wonderful to give them these cute outfits to expand their playtime.

My son was so happy to hear that we would be getting to play with an exercise ball from First Fitness as well as a Deluxe Babyboat® Inflatable Pool Seat from Aqua-Leisure! Well, HE doesn’t really get to play with the baby boat much – but he blew it up for me so I could see what it looked like!

The Deluxe Babyboat is awesome! It fits babies aged 6-18 months and features heavy duty double laminated vinyl and a cool soft, moveable playmobile that will keep baby occupied while adjusting to the water. The one we received also had a spot where Mom or Dad can be “attached” to the float! The leg holes are incredibly comfortable feeling too – they won’t cut into babies skin like some other models of baby floats I’ve used before. I know our new little one will have a blast using this float when it warms up!

The 26″ Play Ball (exercise ball) we received couldn’t come at a better time since I’ve been sitting on my own (adult size) exercise ball for a couple weeks now and he keeps trying to steal it! One of the first “baby items” that I received for my new little girl who is due early November was an adorable pair of shoes from See Kai Run. I received a pair of size 4 (9-12 months) “Kai” style sneakers – in pink, red and brown – and I think they are probably the cutest shoes I’ve ever seen. Pink and brown is incredibly hot this season (and is light blue and brown for baby boys) so these shoes are incredibly easy to pair with outfits.
